Close to local amenities , pubs and restaurants but tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet.
Porthcressa Beach is only a few minutes away on the other side of the island
Accommodation
Aldersyde is a light and airy cottage with surprisingly high ceilings and generously sized living spaces. There are a number of distinct areas giving the opportunity to socialise or to find your own quiet space.
The cottage sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms and in addition a travel cot is available.

Facilities
At Aldersyde we provide everything you need for your Scilly break so you will find a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, eye level double oven, separate hob and microwave in the well equipped kitchen along with plenty of pots and pans and utensils. There is also TV and a Bose radio.

We provide a bluetooth Bose speaker so that you can connect and play your own music source
​
A travel cot, bed bumper, high chair and stair gates are available for the younger ones along with toddler bowls, plates and cutlery.
​
The lounge has a 50" smart TV plus a DVD player. Freeview and freesat TV channels are available along with all of the usual catch up services. We provide a selection of DVD's, books and board games to keep you entertained. A comfortable suite with seating for six is of course provided.

The property benefits from modern electric panel heaters and a log effect electric fire in the lounge to keep you warm at cooler times.

Water, electricity and high speed internet/wifi are included in the tariff. There is a tablet available to access the internet. There are fast USB A & C charging points available in the snug, lounge and bedrooms, and USB A sockets in the kitchen, so you can leave your bulky plugs at home and just pack the cables if you wish.

In the rooms you will find hand towels, bath towels and soaps. Beach towels are available to enjoy Scilly beach days. Hair dryers are in the rooms and there is an iron and ironing board for your use.

You will find tea, coffee and milk on your arrival.

There is a washing line in the court yard and storage space in the garage should you wish to bring or hire bikes, kayaks or the like.
Access
Aldersyde is a nineteenth century granite cottage.
​
The property is accessed through a front ground floor door or through a rear garage.
There is a ground floor W/C but all bedrooms and both bathroom and shower room are on the 1st floor accessed by a central staircase. There are steps on the ground floor. One up to the kitchen and one down into the conservatory and study. There is a step up into the downstairs W/C.
On the first floor there is a step down into the twin bedroom.
The front door opens directly onto Wellcross. Whilst a quiet road, care should be taken when exiting the building and children should be supervised.

Aldersyde
Aldersyde is a traditional, granite built Scillonian Cottage. Origionally built in the early 19th century for a local sea captain. The property has been extended and modernised in recent years and now provides delightful holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. The property has all mod cons but retains many period features including exposed beams, fireplaces and feature garnite walls
