Two Day Trips to Tresco

Stunning weather made us leave our chores behind and head for Tresco for a late afternoon swim and beach BBQ. One of our favourite spots is Appletree Bay overlooking Samson. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves. There is always a deserted beach to be found.

The BBC Spring watch programme was filming at the top end of the beach but luckily didn't want to film us swimming.

We enjoyed ourselves so much on Tresco we returned today for a walk on Abbey Beach on the southern end of the Island overlooking St Mary's. The wild flowers are coming into bloom on the sand dunes although these Santolina are likely to be escapees from the Tresco Abbey Gardens. The Agapanthus on top of the dunes are just beginning to flower and will make stunning foreground interest for landscape photographers in another week or two.
